I am a creative writer and a multi-media artist. I was born in Louisiana and was blessed to grow up in celebration of diversity through culture, cuisine, language, history and perspective. I am linked by my maternal grandmother to Bordeaux, France. Thus far, the remaining three ancestral branches are unknown. Stay tuned!

My M.F.A. is in Creative Writing in Spanish from New York University. My thesis novel, an experimental travel memoir, is titled: Raquel recibió la oreja de Van Gogh. (Out soon in your neighborhood bookstore!)

Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Spanish at a small, private college in a small town in northern Mississippi, near the Tennessee and Arkansas borders, the ancient land of the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Tunica and Quapaw peoples.

I teach English classes and Spanish classes and I teach writing as a practice of art therapy.

After twenty-five years of personal practice, I travelled to Hṛṣīkeśa, India, for intense study and training in the Garhwal Himalaya foothills. I am a 500-hour, Master yoga teacher in the AM Sattva Yoga tradition.

Yoga Gaga is a style of yoga I’ve conceptualized which incorporates breathing practice (prana), dynamic movement (laya), sacred gesture (mudra), mediation, voice (mantra) and a journaling practice. This combination is aimed to bring about a body-mind-spirit wholeness and presence. It is available for all body-mind types and abilities.

I also prescribe Psychomagic acts and read Metagenealogy charts based on the art therapy created by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Marianne Costa.
